I brought my faulty Obbie personally to Vienna expecting the service to last couple of days or weeks, and to pick it up on my next visit. To my great surprise the unit was fixed the very same day (there were 3 issues to fix, so there was work to be done), tested for couple of hours, and now, one day later, I have beautifully working Matrix back home. I even got upgraded eprom with some bugfixes! Their professionalism is really on high level and I can recommend them to anybody. Thank you! Best regards, Dubravko

My PPG didn't work at all anymore. I sent the cards to Alexander (including the power supply card in a very bad condition). He solved all the problems quickly for a reasonable price; my PPG is now back to life again. Very good professional service and communication. The 8.3 operating system is also really nice , you can store and recall sounds by sysex, no more tapes problem.....
If you have any problem with a PPG, this is the place to go.

Couple of months ago I acquired a Synthex on a very popular auction web site... It was supposed to be "in great condition" but as usual with this website, there were some issues with the synth even if the seller at it serviced certainly by the best synth tech in the UK. It's just because also I am very very picky with my synth. I found 5 problems, 1 obvious, 3 somehow hidden and a 5th one intermittent. The first one was fixed by an engineer in Paris. It was a 1 voice that sounded 7 octave higher below a certain octave on 1 DCO. After this been fixed, the 3 other ones became more obvious and I decided to try Virtual Music (Vienna, Austria); Alexander Guelfenburg has a Synthex test bench and doesn't need your whole synth; just the DCO boards. I sent the 4 DCO boards after having insulated the 3 problems to the 4 boards.
Great professionalism was appreciated and turn around was very quick (2 weeks). The 3 problems were "ghost" voices on certain voices (you could hear - very damped in the background - a 2nd voice playing on some voices). Note that I did not mention the 5th problems because intermittent is always time-consuming.
Alexander found the 5th problem himself and fixed it ! (it was a VCF Decay that was sometimes too fast on 1 voice; quite difficult to hear and identify).
I'm not a pro musician, but "hobbyist synth sound designer" for the past 25 years. Please note that Virtual Music had also serviced a Synthex from a very popular French musician.
Overall I should recommend Virtual Music for their professionalism, quick turn-around and fair price.
nachdem ich eigentlich für meinen PPG Wave 2.3 das Keyboard-Repair-Kit bestellt hatte, aber meinen Banana (wer kennt diesen seltenen Synth noch?) zuerst zerlegt hatte, stellt ich fest, daß auch dieser über die gleiche Tastatur verfügt, wie der PPG. Also habe ich zunächst den Banana mit dem Repair-Kit "behandelt" und er funktioniert wieder prima!
Für den PPG bestelle ich jetzt neu - das steht fest!

Ich habe 2 Waves 2.3, eine EVU mit V. 8.3 modifiziert und die Tastaturen mit dem Kit bei beiden Waves restauriert und die Displays wieder "leuchtend" gemacht. War zwar etwas Arbeit und Fummelei, hat aber alles wunderbar funktioniert dank der guten "Bauanleitung" und alles arbeitet wieder so wie Palm sich das einmal dachte - vor vielen Jahren. Ohne H. Guelfenburg u. H. Seib wären viele PPGs einfach nur Schrott. Es braucht einfach Idealisten, die solche tollen Geräte weiterentwickeln. Ich bin begeistert !!!
